Yesterday’s Mission To Qatar!
Most, if not all of you know that I went to Qatar yesterday cause my family sent me on a “mission”! I was supposed to leave in the afternoon around 4 and come back by 8 or 9! I came home put the boxes in my car said bye to my parents and went to the airport to check in! I was given access to the first class lounge and had to pay KD20 for excess baggage! When I looked at my watch I saw that there was no time to use the lounge amenities so I went to the gate! I saw so many people waiting outside! Even the crew members were waiting! I decided to wait with them until I saw that the actual plane is not in the designated gate! In other words the plane is not on the ground yet! When I realised that I directly went to the lounge and had something to eat! The lounge was nice and big but in no way was it cosy! I really enjoyed the food but definitely not the atmosphere! I waited and waited and got kinda worried that the plane might have left since the time was way past the departure time! Finally they started calling the passengers to go to the gates! All the first class, or on Kuwait Airways it’s called business class, passengers went to the gate and to our surprise the plane hasn’t been boarded yet! There was a que of people waiting to get into the plane! The employees didn’t open the gate doors yet! After about a 20 minutes wait inside the gate they finally let us in! We flew out of Kuwait Airport about 30 to 45 minutes late! We finally landed after an hours worth of flying and a small meal comprising of a salmon sandwich, a cucumber sandwich, and a chicken sandwich (all of which were tiny) and a few drinks! I rushed through passport control in Qatar and waited to claim the baggage! One box came out in the beginning and the other came way later! I looked at my watch and I still had about half an hour before my plane back to Kuwait leaves! I rush to the counter and the lady there who’s taking her sweet time says that the gate is closed and I am late! I informed her that I have to be on that flight and that I have no luggage! She wouldn’t help out in any way! All she did was tell me that there was a Qatar Airlines flight to Kuwait an hour later and that I had to go to the Kuwait Airways office to get a ticket! I went to the Kuwait Airways office and no one was there! I wait and no one shows up! I go to the desk to where the lady was and asked her to call someone and she wouldn’t do so! I went back to the office and waited some more! Still no one! I went back to the lady and made her call the gate where the plane was at but no one picked up! I talked to her replacement and I actually used some foul language whenever I referred to Kuwait Airways and it’s employees! All he did was try and hide his laughter! He couldn’t find the Kuwait Airways employee so I had to call in reinforcements! I went to the office and waited for the KA employee and while waiting I contacted family members who were in Qatar to get things done! Finally the KA employee wants in and I blew up like a ticking time bomb or an over heated radiator in the car! He kept on claiming that I was the one who was to blame since I was late! He kept of neglecting the fact that it was their plane that was late and that the lady at the counter wouldn’t let me get in! He kept on saying that I had the opportunity to get on the flight I missed if I told the lady I had no luggage! I told him again that I did mention it to her but that she didn’t care! He then told me that I had to fly back on Economy class and I was like fine but you’d have to reimburse me the difference! He said OK but then he got a phone call from my family and they told him to upgrade me to first! I had to pay about KD17 which came up to 190 Qatari Riyal to get the upgrade and everything was taken care of! passed passport control and checked out the duty free before going to the lounge! (For those who care they had things in their duty free that I haven’t seen in Kuwait!) I went to the first class lounge and guess what … there was no place to sit down! It was full and people were standing! As soon as someone got up and moved their things someone would rush to sit down! The Qatar Airlines employees informed us that it was boarding time and we went to the gate and had to wait 5 minutes before they let us into the First Class bus since they wouldn’t let us ride in the regular buses! When I boarded the plane I was shocked to see that the seating arrangement and size of the First Class Cabin was the exact same as that of the Business Class in Kuwait Airways except that the chairs were rounded and not squared when it comes to the back rest! The in flight service was way more superior on the Qatari flight then that of the Kuwaiti flight! An hour later I was back in Kuwait, went through passport control and left putting a funny look on the customs employees face since I left with no baggage what so ever and they couldn’t do anything to ask me for my paper work so I just walked right by them! I got into my car paid the parking fee and left! As soon as I got home I crashed and passed out!

shit man… that was one hell of an experience. like i said before KA service sucks and its not only in Qatar. u shud see how they deal with people in lebanon, worse!! in-flight service is terrible, the food is nasty, they stopped playing movies only re-runs of useless series, and the music they play is out-dated. Anyway, hope ur mission was successful. hehe I can imagine u blowing up like a bomb, if when calm u got this intimidating attitude, no u dont scare me, but for those who dont know u, am sure they think u r picking a fight just by saying hello
Hamdellah al salameh and ya3teek il 3afiyeh.
