USWS and Customs

UPDATE : I got a call from USWS and they informed me that the issue is not the printer! The issue was the Mitchum antipresperant/deoderant! They said that it has to go to the Ministry of Health to be inspected! :P One thing I have to say to the Government, Customs, and the Ministries is, “AYSHAY!”

I am actually getting nervous as to the services provides by USWS (U Shop We Ship)! I put in an order at Amazon.com for 3 items and Amazon informed me that the items were being shipped seperatly! I recieve the shipments at my mailbox as 3 different items but apparently USWS sent them in as 1 big package! The contents of the packages were:

An Umbrella
Mitchum Products
HP Printer

I don’t see why an Umbrella should be held in customs and I have recieved mitchum products without any hassles befor so it’s not that either! The HP printer might be the issue which I was kind of expecting!

Wednesday of last week USWS called me up and informed me that the goods were held at customs and that they needed a copy of my Civil ID card! I faxed them a copy and called them up to make sure they recieved it! They said yes! Today I get a call and the lady asked me to send mu Civil ID card and so I informed her that I already sent it on Wednesday and the guy in charge of customs recieved it! She then asked if I was informed about the other fees and I told her no cause the guy never mentioned any fees! So she told me it was KD15 and other airport fees as well as 5% customs on the bill! I’ll pay the fees but I am confused though!

Why are they holding the printer at customs? As per my knowledge HP has an open agreement in Kuwait where people can order their products from anywhere! Does anyone know anything about this?

As for the 5%, USWS better not let me pay for 5% of the entire shipment! I should only be paying 5% of the printer’s value! The other items should have come in without any issues!

Has anyone gone through this problem? Does anyone have any advice?
