The Stallion’s Stable of Thoughts and Experiences

Hi y’all!

First of all I would like to apologize for not writing anything in a while but the fun part is yet to come! Why? I get to tell you what I did this past week! Well actually just the weekend and maybe a few random things! :p

Lets start off with Wednesday the 21st

Went to work for a little bit (4 hours) then left to pick up Nibaq in order to start a long adventure called a ROAD TRIP! After arriving at Nibaq’s place to pick him up I smelt the aroma of burnt rubber coming from the engine! To my surprise when I popped the hood the belt that runs the dynamo was cut into pieces! (For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s one of the rubber belts next to the fan under the hood!) Just for safety purposes we went to my friend’s garage in Shwaikh and got it taken car of! We had 4 guys working on the car at one time! One checking all the tires, the other changing the oil and filter, and 2 working on the belts! Take a look at the pic!

Some of you might be asking yourselves, “where is he driving to?” Well the answer is … (drum roll please) … DUBAI! Yes dear readers, Nibaq and I hopped into my Land Cruiser and drove 12 hours till we got to Dubai! The drive was extremely long but having someone in the car was nice and I was extremely impressed by the 2 radio stations we found on the way down! (Studio 1 and Studio 2) They had amazing music playing which made the trip feel a little easier on us! After we got to Fadibou’s place in Dubai we immediately passed out!

Thursday the 22nd

Woke up in the morning and took a nice, long shower and then got dressed! The gracious host, (Fadibou’s ) my road trip buddy (Nibaq) and myself got into my car, drove to the nearest gas station where I got my Land Cruiser washed and filled with gas! Once that was done we went to the Hard Rock Cafe and had lunch! While eating someone decided to pay us a visit! I didn’t know who he was but it turned out that I knew his cousin!

After lunch we drove around getting things done then ended up at the Emirates Mall to take a look at the movies that were playing! We didn’t spend so much time there cause we wanted to relax a bit! We ended up going home and sat down for a bit before taking another shower and getting dressed up! I mean dressed up! Nibaq and I wore our suits and proceeded to Jumaira City to meet up with a friend at the Moroccan restaurant Shoo Fee Ma Fee! (If you go there get their pigeon appetizer! It’s to die for!) We talked to our friend for hours catching up on news and reminiscing on good old memories! We walked her to her car since she had to pick her mom up at the airport. Most people would want to go clubbing on a Thursday night in Dubai, but not us! We were too nicely dressed for a club so we decided to hit The Agency! We had a relaxing time and headed home at about mid nightish and went to sleep!

Friday the 23rd

Woke up and showered before leaving to pick up 2 friends, K the Kuwaiti was one of them, who flew in from Kuwait! No we didn’t pick them up from the airport! :p We picked them up from the hotel! We went to watch the movie, “The 300!” in the Emirates Mall and it was amazing! We bought the Gold tickets and while watching the movie we were munching on a hot platter (onion rings, potato wedges, chicken wings, and cheese sticks), popcorn chicken, nachos, and had our drinks! The huge leather reclining seats made the movie going experience sooooooooo much better! You should check it out! We then went to get a bite to eat at twenty four seven in the Kempinski Hotel! Once that was done you know what happened! Of course you know! It’s Friday the 23rd … the Shakira concert! :p Despite the unorganized parking, untimeliness of the concert goers, bad traffic, and only knowing 3 or was it 4 songs from what she sang we had a good time! After the concert we went to another place and had an even better time which ended up in getting to the hotel at about 3ish I think! I wasn’t paying any attention to time!

Saturday the 24th

Woke up and got ready to leave! Yes I took a shower! :p Despite wanting to leave early to hit the road on the long drive we decided to go to the mall and have lunch! We wanted to get something to eat but everything was closed till Noon! (Such a hassle) So we waited till noon and went to the pasta place in the food court of the Emirates Mall next to the South African steak restaurant! Good food but it took them a long time to get it to us! Once that was over Nibaq and I left to hit the border!

You might think that everything went smoothly here but what you didn’t know was that I tried inflating my rear tire since it lost some air and the air compressor I had in the back of the Land Cruiser caused a short in the cigarette lighter! What does that mean? Well it means that we have no way of charging our phones, charging the GPS device, or even the iPod while driving! Thankfully we didn’t need them much!
