Umami Culinary School
In yesterday’s post I mentioned how I was invited to attend one of the classes that were offered by The Umami Culinary School!
I had so much fun last night! I got there at 7PM (30 minutes early) and snapped a few pics of the place while getting background info on how the idea behind opening the school popped up! I helped the Chef prepare something while we waited for others to show up!
We started the class and I was quite happy to see that it was very informal and that the Chef was extremely friendly and helpful! The Chef would show us what to do and give us a few instructions and then we go off to our cooking area and do what she did but we can change the portions of the ingredients in order to fit our taste buds! The Chefs enjoys seeing how people make their food and likes it when the students get creative!
What we made :
Beef Fajitas
Homemade Salsa from scratch
Homemade Guacamole from scratch
Spicy Chicken Tacos
Antojitos Minis
I enjoyed the experience to the point I will be going back for the other sessions whenever I can! If you want to know the prices and what the schedule looks like, then go to their website and print out the pdf file that’s on there!
Below you will see more info and a few pics!

I had to walk down there to exit a place I was having so much fun at! If you notice there are plants on the side by the wall, well that is only a few things they grow which is used during their classes!
If you have any sort of willingness to cook or want to try it out, I truly would advise that you should give them a try! Call them up and go to one of their classes!

Those dishes look delicious! And the place looks nice and clean too. I’m so glad that local young women are establishing such great businesses!
Hopefully once I get some free time, I wanna go checkout their classes! So exciting; finally something different in Kuwait!!

Chic Politika : They were great! As for the place, it’s cosy, cute, and fully equipped! As for the young women, they are doing such a good job with their whole school as well as their consulting firm!
We should get a group of 8 people and all go at once!
Purg : Prices aren’t too high! You just don’t want to spend much!
I don’t think you can go as a guest, it’s not Toastmasters and I don’t think anyone needs any tips!

Heyy.
A friend of mine sent me the link since I’m very interested in cooking. But the thing is their classes are all in May. Do you have any idea if they’re running any sessions July on?
;/ I really hope so
May 16th, 2007 at 3:49 am
The Tooth.fairy : Welcome to my blog! They only add the schedule per month, so you won’t see July’s schedule until the end of June! You can give them a call and ask though!
