Old Cheque!

The cheque was for 8,000 Rupees, which was the currency Kuwait used to use before the Dinar. That was a nice gift from NBK!
Another event that occurred yesterday was that I broke my fast at my grand mother’s place and I pigged out, just a little!
Once I was done with that I headed up to the living room area where everyone was having desert, and tea. During the conversations that were taking place between family members I heard my aunt telling my uncle how The National Bank of Kuwait sent the a cheque that my grand father (God rest his soul) wrote out in 1953! The cheque was placed in a nice wooden box and looked like it was in mint condition. Check out the pic below!

Snookie : Welcome to my blog! As for the cheques, I don’t think they are thrown away! As for archiving, NBK has a reputation to be the best firm when it comes to archiving their paperwork! Apparently they still have the receipt to the first phone bill they ever got!
Fonzy : Don’t be silly! The check was written by my late grand father to another business man and it was already cashed!
Marzouq : I wouldn’t doubt if someone in your family has gotten one as well!
Blue Dress : LOL! No!
Chikapappi : The presentation of the gift was amazing!
Intlxpatr : I hope they take good care of it!

Heheh some of our legal financial laws - especially the mid 1950s ones concerning foreign investment still revolve around ‘rupees’

that is a very smart move from NBK… i really enjoyed their idea… it made my day
i was really happy to know they cared that much about their costumers and sending these antiques away to their source.
Lucky you ha
