YOU MUST BE KIDDING ME! RIGHT? THIS MUST BE A JOKE!

For my readers who can’t read Arabic and would like to know what this post is all about, well some MPs who are in a Parliamentary Committee are proposing a bill that will let Islamists tell the Kuwaiti population what they should and should not be doing! The highlighted box in the pic above is the heading I read in this morning’s paper!
!!! THEY MUST BE (add foul language here) KIDDING !!!
If this bill goes through, I send out my deepest condolences to the people of Kuwait! Why? Because our beloved Kuwait is losing it’s uniqueness and losing all the things it used to be proud of prior to the 1980’s and especially the Islamic take over after the 1990-1991 Gulf War. I do not think other Gulf nations will be following our footsteps any more like they used to do before.

they are not kidding. This is the same Islamic agenda anywhere in the world.
It is also the “will” of the people as they say. And without an effective liberal movement, this will remain the “will” of the people.

Anonymous : Welcome to my blog and I guess you’re right despite the backwards thinking of the entire concept!

appalling

I died a little inside when I read this. All the Gulf countries (including Saudi Arabia) are heading into a more progressive direction and we just keep going backward.
Sometimes, I think we might have done better if we didn’t have an elected Parliament, and just let the royal family rule every aspect of the country.

Joud : Welcome to my blog and I totally agree with you!
Angelo : Seems like all the other GCC countries are progressing as you mentioned but with the way people vote her I highly doubt that we will see anything resembling progressive development!
EXzombie : Not just a smacking! They need a good shave!

Sad but indifferent.
Things just keep getting worse and worse no matter where you look.

KTDP : Makes people want to sell off what they have and immigrate to other countries!

It is a very scary situation.
In the English language press today, they referred to a new law, little known, whereas all media have to have prior approval from the Ministry of Communication for any “media event.” That is how they are tackling the TV station that handled the Star event. So far, no legislation telling hotels how they are supposed to supervise their rentals, but implications that legislation is coming soon.
Separate hospitals for Kuwaitis and expats.
Increased separation of classrooms.
This is not the Kuwait tradition. This is someone else’s traditions, superimposed on Kuwait.

Intlxpatr : Soon you will hear the flushing o f a toilet and the whole world around us will start rotating and all this will be due to the decisions of those imposing such “traditions” on us!

I think if you love islam right, you will understand it better, and this what u say freedom, is western, not ours.

El5al : Welcome to my blog and as for your comment I disagree! Islam is not a sexist nor a segregated religion. The only reason it seems that way was due to the extremism of those who think they are good Muslims! Did you know that no woman was allowed to wear the niqab other than the wives of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH)? Now a days you seem them frequently claiming religion! Oh and the 7ijab is a farth if and only if the woman wants to wear it. The 7ijab should not be forced upon any woman it has to be her decision to wear it.
